Wii Fit is driving men crazy

June 5th 2008 06:32

This amateur video is a guy recording his girlfriend using the WiiFit to play some odd hula-hoop game. The video was uploaded to YouTube and has become a minor sensation as internet denizens can't get enough of a girl in her undies, swirling her hips to a video game.

Yes, you know you want to watch it more than once. That's why you're weak.

Aside from delighting people all around the world, the video has raised another interesting point: it was revealed that the video is a fake, created by a 'viral marketing' firm, ostensibly to promote the Wii.

She's apparently real mad, too. From the LA Times:

"How did she react when she found out that he'd posted the video without telling her, and that hundreds of thousands of Wii fans were now drooling over her?
"She was FURIOUS," wrote Gutierrez, who said she "called me on the phone screaming her head off and then hung up on me.""

Sonic vs Mario - Olympic style!

August 27th 2007 13:42

Sonic vs Mario sprint

Set for release this November on the Wii, Sonic will be battling Mario in a wide series of Olympic events that will make a very interesting use of the Wii controller! This title is a dream come true to many 'old school' gamers like myself who grew up in the Mega drive vs. SNES rivalry days where we had heated discussions on the playground on who was better...Mario or Sonic!

Wii to play DVDs...but at a catch...

August 21st 2007 14:09

Currently, the Nintendo Wii does not playback DVDs or any other form of media (don't even THINK about HD-DVD or Bluray for that matter!). Not only that, but Nintendo also announced that a 'newer' Wii will be eventually realised that will have DVD playback enabled. But what about current Wii owners?

Nights flying

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams will be an only Wii title when it is released by Sega by the end of this year. In 1996, the Sega Saturn presented the first NiGHTs title which created a large fan base and showed gamers what a real platformer should play like. Players were flying and gliding around maps of dreams and nightmares from stunning green hills and beautiful waterfalls to gloomy and misty mazes.

Crappy building textures says Spidey

Spiderman 3 just came out last Thursday here in Australia, and I found it a quite enjoyable film. Although I am not a diehard fan of the Spiderman films or the comic books (I only liked Venom as he looked really cool in Capcom’s Street Fighter games and comics), I would have hoped that the game released on consoles would try to match the enjoyable nature of the film. Well it hasn’t panned out that way at all, and Wii/PS2 gamers are suffering the worst.
