When will Final Fantasy ever be final?

Square Enix keeps the franchise going with a hefty instalment of Final Fantasy games which will please fans of the series and RPG alike.
Here is a list of titles recently announced/developed by Square Enix and their respective platforms:
- Final Fantasy XII (Playstation 2 – October 2006 US release)
- Final Fantasy XIII (Playstation 3 -2007 release)
- Final Fantasy Versus XIII (Playstation 3)
- Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII (Playstation 2 – August 2006 US release)
- Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (PSP – End of 2006 release)
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (DS- End of 2006 release)
- A planned MMORPG for PS3 and Windows Vista
Now that is an awesome line up for games, with high exclusivity to Sony’s Playstation console. I am quite happy that Square Enix has revisited the epic Final Fantasy VII story which graced the PSX 9 years ago.
Obviously the fan base for FFVII was so great (and profitable) that Square Enix has already released a film named Final Fantasy: Advent Children and a round of remakes and sequels to the title.
FF: Advent Children is a computer animated film that takes place after FFVII finished and focuses on Cloud Strife once again, whilst Crisis Core will be a remake of the game on the PSP. Dirge of Cerberus will follow Valentine, another integral character in FFVII, and takes place 1 year after the Advent Children film.
Sony has done a good job in holding exclusivity for Square Enix’s titles, and hence a large fan base that will undoubtedly choose the PS3 over the Xbox360 and Nintendo Wii due to this popular RPG series that never disappoints.
