Violent and Epic…300: March to Glory
January 6th 2007 02:01
Frank Miller wrote an epic and violent novel about King Leonidas and his 300 soldiers who fought Xerxes and his Persian army. This graphic novel has been turned into a film which will be released early this year and Warner Bros. has also decided to create a game based on the film. At the moment this game is scheduled for release on the PSP around the time the film is released and it looks like a gruesome action orientated game.
Players will be able to choose either Leonidas or phalanx of the Spartan army, and will ‘button bash’ (so-to-say) their way to victory against countless Persian warriors. Moreover, combat will involve the use of shields, single/double swords and spears which can be thrown over long distances to annihilate opponents. Graphically, the game looks fluid at the moment and expects a lot of blood whilst players create combinations of attacks while they button bash.
This game looks interesting and although based on the movie, does look promising. Players who are fans of Konami’s Dynasty Warrior series will feel at home with this game as it plays in a similar sort of fashion. The graphic novel storyline exposed in the game is also nice, with cut scenes drawn in comic fashion as seen in the PSP Metal Gear Solid games. I just hope that the movie turns out very fine, and perhaps so will this title. Moreover, I would love to see this title make its way in a ‘better’ format on a new gen console such as the PS3, which should really show us the graphical power available for gamers to see.
