World War 3 – Tom Clancy’s EndWar
May 26th 2007 04:03
It’s the Year 2020, and all out war has begun between the US, Europe and reborn Russia. Control of military in space has also caused a difference between the US and Europe, with Russia now holding the main source of oil in the world (with previous resources being exhausted) and now being a target for invasion. EndWar has an interesting plotline which carries the political war theme that we have come to enjoy with Tom Clancy’s games.
EndWar is not a first person shooter title, but more so a 3D real time strategy game. Players will jump into battles are selecting a country to fight for and selecting a location (via a global map) for which a battle is being engaged. Players will control a variety of units according to how many other people are connected to the battle (the less the people on the team the more a player can control) and eventually battle out the map until one side takes out the other.
The game will be created by Ubisoft and is coming to the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 next year. I find it quite good that RTS games are beginning to flourish again like CnC3 and the upcoming Starcraft 2. EndWar will obviously have to compete with the big-guns but with the Tom Clancy name – this is sure to be a hit when it is released.
