TMNT new film also gets a new game

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are returning in a new film due out next year, and along with the film release, Ubisoft will be releasing a game which plays through the storyline of the movie. Fans will be happy that’s for sure, but what about gamers. This title is scheduled for release on March next year and will be out on all consoles – but could that be a bad thing?
Before I begin looking into what the game offer, I tend to look down on games which are released on multiple consoles including that of competitors. The developers begin porting games all over the place once they have a single gaming engine running. Laziness becomes prevalent when a new-gen console like the Xbox360 runs the game almost equivalently to the PS2 counterpart version. Moreover, instead of releasing a high quality game on a single console, for example Final Fantasy; the mass spread of the game to treat all games might be a cash grab. On the other hand, maybe the developers are trying to treat all gaming audiences – but history tends to favor my first assumption.
So this title plays in a single player fashion, with third person perspective the main control aspect of the game. Gamers control the different turtles in respect to the movie and can perform ‘team’ moves whereby turtles ‘use’ each other to fight off enemies in fighting action. There are also 16 levels with multiple side missions which might keep players attached for a bit longer.
The game is still in development and there are no multiplayer modes or online play. Its not looking good in my books, but we will have to wait and see. I am a fan of the films which I used to watch religiously when I was a child. I hope the new movie can pull off some good story and action sequences since they are trying to raise TMNT from the ‘dead’ – well in my opinions (the cartoons don’t count).
