The Zerg in Starcraft 2!
March 12th 2008 10:27
If you've ever played Starcraft, you know that the Zerg are vile beasts, birthed into a world of ichor and slime... ready to burst from the chest of a hungry Englishman at a moment's notice.
But Blizzard knows what they're doing... they launched the Zerg on an audience of hapless Korean gamers, wowing them with the speed and ferocity of the Zergling Rush, the spines of the Zerg... spines, and the leathery flapping of evil bats.
Images and videos found on Gaming News Link, which may have pinched them from somewhere else:
Mwa ha ha!
I'm not sure English-speaking gamers really need a Starcraft 2. Does the game bring something new to the plate? It's a big plate, after all, made bigger by games that have thrilled players: Gears of War, Bioshock, Portal.
Well, the Korean world is definitely ready. They've got professional Starcraft leagues, where nerdy 15-year-old boys play for big purses, then do lines of coke off the firm backsides of young women. It's seedy stuff, even though I made it up. They're not really nerds.
Zow! I wonder if I need a new computer to play it? Or can the University's resources be surreptitiously used for Starcraft 2 Deathmatches. My speed with the Zerg is legendary among people who have heard of me.

Peter, I'm looking forward to see if Blizzard made any changes to the fundamental gameplay..
