Sydney Opera House playing video games?
April 17th 2007 13:02
Strange to say it but this is true… The Sydney Opera House will be host to “Play! A Video Game Symphony” at the Concert Hall on 19-23 June this year. Arnie Roth will be the conductor for this rare exhibition of gaming tributes and supported by the Cantillation chore. Gameplay sequences will be displayed on large screens which are above the orchestra and will surely display a dazzling visual experience to match the stunning music.
Music from over 20 of the greatest video games to hit our consoles will be featured and to name a few include: Final Fantasy VII. Shenmue, Silent Hill, Halo, Super Mario Bros and Metal Gear Solid. These are just a few of the titles which will be played and I can already feel that this musical chore is going to be spectacular as music from this games have a lot of emotion and meaning behind them (yes getting a little hysterical there but just listen to the MGS theme for example and you will understand!).
Tickets are on sale now and range from $120 for Premium seats to $65 for the lower class seats. This will be a worthwhile experience and I might even have to check it out! See the website below for more information of seating and games covered in the event.
