Street Fighter 2 producer for new DBZ title

This July, Dragon Ball Z fans with be given a new present in the form of another fighting title: Super DBZ, but this time created by the producers of Capcom’s classic Street Fighter 2 –Noritake Funamizu.
Serious fighting battles, with 18 selectable characters – each with their own unique combos and charges will be the focus of this new title. Players will be pitted in cell shaded graphics in large 3D maps where they can fly around and destroy the surrounding environments (as seen in the cartoon series).
Being a fan of the Street Fighter series, this title really looks appealing. Like the Street Fighter charge meters, this title will also follow the same structure, so players can gather enough charge in their meter to perform a special move. I really didn’t like the recent 3D DBZ titles on the PS2, since they seemed very simplistic and quickly get boring (more of a child’s game – but hey it is based on a cartoon series after all). Hopefully this time around, Noritake will bring some SF element into the game and make it a more complex yet entertaining fighting title (come on…lets try to get a title that competes with the likes of Tekken and Soul Calibur!).
Watch out for this title on the Playstation 2.
