The Godfather: Blackhand will be released on the Nintendo Wii this March and although it is essentially a re-release of the title available for the majority of ‘old-gen’ and ‘new-gen’ consoles, it does feature the innovative use of the Wii controller which makes the game unique in its own special way.
Blackhand is quite violent and that is no secret as it follows the fashion of the films, however the ability to strangle, punch, head butt and shoot someone with the movement of your hands (and emulating it in real life) may be a tad too realistic for some (or is it!). That’s right; players can bring the controller to their head and bring it in a swinging motion which will produce a head butt in the game, along with the ability to punch someone using a punching motion with the controller. Moreover, strangling someone – well use your imagination. It would be very weird watching someone in action using these techniques but none-the-less would make the game very enjoyable to play.
The game comes with all the add ional features found in the Xbox360 release of the game, along with more levels and the ability to control (pay for) ‘hit men’ to assist in gameplay and also choose a variety of roles in the game which range from violent with no holds bars attitude in attacking everyone and everything, to strategic fighting using men and politics to win levels. This is a nice game if you like the mafia genre and if you haven’t played the first release of the game. Highly recommended!
