Scantly clad women playing Volleyball...priceless

September 10th 2006 10:40

A few years back on the Xbox, Temco released a sporting title called Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball which saw players awing at bikini models from the fighting series in all angles possible. This was a bit controversial since DoA is notorious for over-doing the ‘bouncy bouncy’ features of women’s bodies in their fighting titles and their volleyball game was no exception.

This time around, Temco will release Extreme Beach Volleyball 2 on the Xbox 360 in November and will feature the same style of gameplay and graphics as the original. Of course the graphics will be top notch using the Dead or Alive 4 graphic engine which really shows the power of the Xbox 360. So what about the gameplay? This title is essentially a volleyball game where up to 4 players can battle it out on a variety of surfaces including the beach. Of course players will be able to choose the female characters who are dressed in almost nothing and are accompanied by unlockable videos for gamers to perve at.

Seven minigames will also be included in this title and look pretty enjoyable. Pool hopping is one minigame which has players entering a timed combination of buttons as their character hops from one pillow (resting on the water in the pool) to another in a race against an opponent. Also, if you ever played Waverace on the Nintendo Gamecube, you will be happy to see that a clone of that title is included in this game. Players will be able to jet ski in races and perform stunts to gain points and eventually unlock prizes.

Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball 2 feels more like a multiplayer title which will be fully enjoyed with a large group of friends. However, that’s not saying that a lone gamer won’t have fun, with a LOT of eye candy to view whilst playing the game and a heap of unlockable to boot. I wouldn’t bother with this title unless you are a Doa fan, love volleyball or just enjoy an expensive perve :/

There was talk of nudity, but apparently the prime minister of japan won't have it.

Not that I'm interested in this game, graphics look really bad (seriously, they are just so plasticy) I also don't have an xbox 360... yeah that must be another reason

Nudity eh...that would be a bit excessive for a video game...but it has been done before.
I don't have a 360 yet...not planning to buy one soon either. I might just wait to see what the PS3 offers in comparison.

I'm pretty sure quite a few games have nudity...
They have sex in 'singles', 'god of war', 'sims'...

$1000 AUD I think with a blu-ray player to boot... Its also significantly more powerful than the xbox 360.

360 costs less but if you buy a hd-dvd drive attachment to it the price shoots up to $1200 so in a sense its less value for money.

yeah prices do seem to be such a headache...will have to wait at least 1 year for a price drop...and even that won't be significant (look at the PSP for example).

WEll the question is if you wan't to go and buy a console for scantily clad women playing volleyball.

Honestly I'd go for a ps3 becase of the built in blu-ray palyer, and it really looks like it will eventually take over from DVD, it wont be good to be with hd-dvd when blu-ray only exclusives are released.

The psp is trying to be a home console in your hands, because of that it really isn't an ideal portable game device, its mp3 playback is subpar, its loading times are amazingly high (approximately 15minutes to load a game and start playing it!) and in genearl its not a portable system. I suppose its just a matter of chocie, and me being a nitnendo fanboy, I'll be looking into getting a ds...
