Riot response….the violent way
July 4th 2006 04:09
Urban Chaos: Riot Response is a new first person shooter for the PS2 and Xbox and it sure is violent. The gameplay follows an ex-marine Nick Mason who is placed in a police division in response to an outbreak of riots in the city. Nick has a large array of weaponry including pistols, riot shields and even nail bombs (to name a few). Players will go through the city hunting down gangs and their leaders using any violent tactic that is necessary (ahem head shots limbs being blown off are quite common).
The game looks to satisfy players who enjoy first person shooters, but other than that I can’t see how more enjoyable the game can get. I don’t particularly like fps games on consoles, and this game is no exception. They tend to be simple and limited (considering accuracy in shooting and overall movement of the character). Moreover, the graphics in this game don’t look all that flash, and it is evident that the PS2 and Xbox are starting to ‘feel’ their time in the graphics department. Players will also find themselves finishing this game in no time, with basic computer AI and small maps not being to fulfilling.
As I stated above, the game quite simply places the gamer in a character who ‘kills’ his way to the finish line with the most bizarre and gruesome manners. I would like to recommend this title but there are a larger collection of better and rewarding fps shooters out there (even on the consoles) which players can put their hard earned money on. But, if you do like the principle of the game and enjoy blowing the living brains out of a character in a riot driven city of crime, then try out this game which is available now on the PS2 and Xbox.
Pictures like the ones above come from Gamespot and the Official website of the game.
