Reservoir Dogs…a total bomb of a game
October 29th 2006 11:40
Eidos Interactive has just released a game which had a good concept but has really let down fans and gamers alike of the cult classic film Reservoir Dogs. This title is intended to fill in the gaps of the film which saw a bunch of bank robbers turn against each other in a weird tale of trust and betrayal. I was never really fond of the film which left me confused from start to end (well sort of) and the same goes for the game which is available on Xbox, PS2 and the PC.
The gameplay of this game was been rated quite poor, with terrible AI and gaming concepts. For example, players who hold a single person hostage in the game, can literally take down a whole police squad who will not lay a bullet into the gamer due to the hostage. What makes this concept in more funny, is the fact that beating a hostage senseless, and having the hostage drop on the ground will cause all police in the vicinity of the player to drop their weapons and withdraw from attacking…how rubbish!
Moreover, gamers can shoot senselessly with a poor lock on system and finish the game in under 6 hours! Yes 6 hours. In addition to the lousy gameplay and control structure, the graphics are terrible. Blocky, watery graphics are prevalent in the game which will make gamers sick.
Gamers should avoid this title at all costs and I even suggest that to the fans of the film who will feel ripped off after they play the title. This is a classic example of a quick grab for cash using a film name which we have seen over and over again in the past. Bad luck fans, but this is a stinker!
