Rainbow Six Vegas looking pretty sweet

This November, Ubisoft is planning to release the new instalment for the Rainbow Six series and this time will be themed in the glittering night life of Las Vegas. So does it really add anything special to the series? I always ask this question since every Rainbow Six game feels the same as the other. On the contrary, the Splinter Cell series was a nice diversion from the game type (even though it wasn’t directly focused on Rainbow Six).
Having read up and watched trailers of the candy like graphics and gameplay for this title, I was quite impressed. Vegas seemed to be more ‘theatrical’ action game so to day, with animation cut scenes replacing the traditional text based introduction to the story line. I think this will really increase the understanding of the storyline for gamers, for which I thought was quite ‘skipped’ in previous R6 titles (yep I am one of those guys who skips all the reading and gets straight into the action!). Moreover, gamers will be placed into a third person perspective whenever they slide down ropes to smash into windows or do acrobatic escape manoeuvres (similar to that of the Splinter Cell series).
Graphically this game looks awesome! Character animations look very fluid and match human movements very closely. This adds immense amount of realism to the game along with the tactical commands which still exist in the title and create a real strategical flow to the gameplay. Explosions and the destruction of the environment is also portrayed quite realistically in the grahics of the game which will add tension and stress to the player as they try to save the hostages on their mission!
Well this game is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 and eventually on the PS3 and PSP and I can not wait! They just keep getting better and better…
