PS3 'value pack' for Australia next month!
July 20th 2007 10:09
Its confirmed, there will be no price cut for Australians wishing to purchase a Playstation 3 - BUT a Value Pack is set to be released on August the 2nd which may prove just a good as a price cut.
This value pack will be priced at $999 AUD (*ahem* still bloody expensive compared to the competition!) and will contain the following as extras to the normal PS3 retail pack
-an extra Sixaxis controller
-Resistance: Fall of Man
-Motorstorm
The unit will still have a 60GB hard disk - unlike customers in the United States who will be able to purchase an 80GB model with Motorstorm for $599 USD.
So will I be rushing out to buy the PS3 'value pack'? Not quite ...I am very happy with my Xbox 360 which I grabbed in a nice eBay deal. A few months ago I paid $550 for my eBay pack and got an extra wireless controller, 3 games (Sonic, Dead Rising, PGR3) and a extended warranty from EB games! Yes very lucky indeed and a good seller (unlike the large amount of scam artists out there so be CAREFUL!). When the PS3 reaches a much cheaper level...then I might consider (Sony...why oh why are you kiling your gaming scene :/)

hmmm the ps3 looks like an amazing machine but the price is just way too hefty. even if it is the cheapest blu-ray player around.
