Point, drag, throw and shoot….Elibits on Wii
December 5th 2006 12:29
Konami is pulling off a quirky yet interesting point and shoot title named Elibits that will surly make a mark on Nintendo’s new Wii console. Elibits are tiny little creatures that provide electricity to the world (yes strange concept) and have gone missing. It is essentially up to the player to find out where they are and capture them.
Players will use the Wii remote to click, drap and move (throw aggressively) furintiure and other items within a house for example in order to uncover these Elibits. Once found, they can be shot after being targeted with the aim of the Wii controller and captured. This feels like a first person shooter title with a laser gun so to say and is quite enjoyable.
To make things more interesting, players will be given time limits to find the Elibits hidden in the house, and also set boundaries including a limit to how many objects can be broken including dishes and glass which the Elebits might be hiding underneath. Objects will also range in heaviness which will push players to focus in moving objects carefully. Additional weapons such as stun items are also unlockable which will allow players to expel Elebits in a certain area on the map.
This game looks pretty nice and will please all age groups including the young crowd who will be captured by these cute creatures and nice home-like locations. Wii gamers should look into playing this title which is released this month but based on length they might be a tad disappointed. The only additional features which might keep players hooked is the map-edit mode which will allow gamers to rearrange maps for different Elibits encounters. On the other hand, trying to beat time and the mere concept of the game for accuracy and playing hide and seek will thrill gamers for some time.
