A must-buy for any self-proclaimed Ferrari fan, Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is the latest driving game to hit the PS3, PS2, Nintendo DS and Wii, and is developed by System 3 in collaboration with Ferrari engineers for some of the most realistic and authentic driving experience on a games console ever.
With vehicle handling dynamics tuned by Bruno Senna, nephew of the late Ayrton Senna, Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli captures all the excitement and energy of the legendary Ferrari Challenge series of motorsport.
The game allows gamers to sit behind the wheel of some of the worlds most desirable cars - the F430 Scuderia, F50, etc. - battle it out in a lifelike recreation of the Ferrari Challenge event in order to win the Season and be crowned Champion.
In addition to Challenge seasons, players may also compete in the Practice, Time Trial and Endurance modes, race online against up to 16-players, download new cars and Challenges or share their customized cars with other players from around the world.
IGN.com gives the game an impressive overall score of 8.3 / 10 and had these closing comments:
"Throughout Ferrari Challenge there’s a clear sense this game isn’t out to woo the casual racing fan. Instead, it’s a hardcore sim, a love letter to both Yu Suzuki’s classic arcade racer and everything that’s rolled through the gates of the Scuderia’s factory. It often frustrates and is at times rough around the edges, but shining through these flaws is a game with heart and passion. System 3 has managed to produce a thoroughbred racing experience that manages to retain so much of the charisma of its source material - and for those so inclined its one of the best racers available on the PlayStation 3."
Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is out in Australia on August 28th with a rrp of $109.95.
