Play Mortal Kombat 3 online!

Yes the classic MK title has been re-released on the Xbox 360 for a budget price and noticeably with online play. Gamers of the series will be delighted to see Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 in all its glory with full speed and fatalities. Single player modes will remain in tact for the game by Midway, but the multiplayer mode is where the game shines.
Players will be able to connect to one vs. one matches which can be set up with any players around the world. Moreover, up to 4 players can get together in a ‘competition’ mode where winners and losers face each other. Ranked and unranked matches can also be played which should really push player’s skills (and pride) to the limit. Reviewers have said that some matches played had some latency problems but overall the speed of fights was normal and did not hinder combos and fatalities. Streetfighter 2 online was known for its latency problems with players complaining of lag and problems in pulling off moves in quick succession, but so far MK3 doesn’t fall out that bad.
Other than latency issues, this title does have a few niggles which will really annoy gamers. First of all, there is no command list for moves such as combos and fatalities. Yep that’s right….pull out those command lists from your old mags or dive into google and search for them cause they are not given. To hardcore MK gamers, this will not be a problem since it separates the button munchers from the professionals. Another problem the game does not record the unlocking of hidden characters such as Smoke for successive games (when the game is restarted). Perhaps in the near future a patch might be released for this problem which I think will ease the anger of fans.
If you love fighting games which require patience and proper fighting commands (with a lot of gore) than this is the title for you. It’s a classic and is out now on the Xbox 360 as a budget download and I wholly recommend it!
