Project Gotham 4 to have bikes!

E3 is pumping out another title from a big car racing series – of which I have played right from the very start on the Dreamcast – that continues to awe racing lovers with the arrival of Project Gotham Racing 4 on the Xbox 360. What can I say, from the trailer and pics I am very happy with what is being put together.
One of the features which I love about these titles is the little touches such as the radio and sounds of the cars which make the game more enjoyable. Furthermore, the inclusion of rain, clouds/sunlight, night/day and now the many defined sounds for skids, burnouts, drifting and braking (don’t forget slamming into the wall at crazy speeds!) all make this game more exciting. Attention to detail is what developers are focusing on these days and Project Gotham never skimps on this (cockpit views which are very detailed to their real counterpart). Lets not forget the graphics as well which have really stunned me ever since the Dreamcast days (I still think the first title has some very nice eye candy especially at its time and against its competitors *ahem* blocky GT 1 on PSX!).
My main point in this blog is of course the inclusion of motorbikes. Now I know some of you are going to start whinging and say ‘well now they are just copying Gran Turismo’. Well I (and many other gamers for that matter) couldn’t car less. Developers are trying to continually improve and make games more enjoyable and this is exactly what Bizarre Creations is doing with PGR4. The bikes look very sexy, and can be quite tricky to control amongst the different surfaces and speed available for gamers to run on. Its not a simple bash of the button to ride the bike around, but ‘bike thinking’ with the use of the throttle and speed changing around corners which will earn kudos points (along with drifting, wheelies and other wild maneuvers!).
I can’t wait to get my hands on this title.... which is scheduled to come out this September.
