Wii Fit

Another exciting Nintendo Wii concept will hit Australian stores when the Wii Fit launches locally next month.
Opening a whole new meaning for the term 'exergaming', the Wii Fit video game comes bundled with the innovative Wii Balance Board - a pressure sensitive, wireless balance board that senses weight and shift in balance in any direction. This means that when standing on the Wii Balance Board during activities allows players to follow along to movements ensuring they have full control of the on-screen activities.
The Wii Balance Board can also measure a user's weight and their centre of gravity, and calculate their body mass index when told the user's height!
The fun games included on the Wii Fit disc are split into four training categories including Aerobic Exercises, Muscle Workouts, Yoga and Balance Games that will help you and your family to develop bodily balance control ability, burn fat in the body, help tone and condition muscles, as well as help increase aerobic stamina.
In all, there will be over 40 different activities for you to choose from under the aforementioned four training categories and they are Hula Hoop™, Ski Jump, Press-up Challenge, Rhythm Boxing, Rowing Squat, Lunge and classic Yoga poses such as Half Moon, Tree, Crocodile Twist and many, many more!
The Wii Fit and Balance Board has already shipped millions of units in Japan since its launch late last year and now it'll be the turn for Aussie gamers to experience this funky gadget. The Wii Fit bundle pack will be available in stores from May 8 priced at $149.95.

The main idea behind the exercises etc. it's built for, is pushing you towards better posture and balance... along with improving flexibility and muscle tone.
All in all, I think it's a good device to supplement (not replace!!) your daily exercise activities. AND.. added bonus is, some of it is quite fun at the same time... as well as challenging, as things are scored, so it gives you goals towards beating previous scores, etc.
The tracking of weight, BMI, etc. is kind of good - can be disconcerting if it keeps going up (Xmas break is a killer for those of us trying to lose weight lol), but provided you can work past that, it'll be fine... hehe
