Catch the Cute little Sims on the Wii

EA Games is at it again with yet another Sims title and this time it’s on the Wii. Funny thing though, the creators of this title simply named MySims, have opted for a cute ‘lego’ type graphic layout which will appeal to a larger range of gamers (if the Sims hasn’t already!).
Players begin by creating their character by using the Wii remote and waving out a variety of hairstyles for example and selecting clothing and additional visual complexions for their Sim character from preset choices. Once the character is created, players can thus build their house from scratch (as you would expect from a Sim game) and eventually invite their friends to their home. Interestingly enough, players will also be able to craft their own custom furniture which will decorate their home.
From building tools to paint brushes, this game really feels like a construction game – which has really put me off the Sim games in general. It may be enjoyable for some gamers to create a fantasy home in game land, but if it isn’t going to be seen by any online gamers – then what’s the point. Yep I am being critical here, since games these days are all heading into the online realm. Home is an example of a similar title where Sony has created their own ‘sim’ world online for players to build their homes and interact with other people from around the world.
After looking at this title, I would recommend it for the younger gamer. It is a family orientated game and does create a sense of ‘civil engineering’ hopes for children growing up in Sim land (joke intended). This title should be out later this year.
