Multiplayer bliss: GRAW 2
February 3rd 2007 05:28
Ghost Recon fans rejoice as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 heads to the PS3, PC and PSP this March in what looks to be an excellent well rounded and realistic shooter. Put aside the single player mode, the multiplayer and co-op modes like quite fantastic. Players will be able to challenge each other in a variety of modes.
Modes include who can kill the most opponents, while other modes require players to work in teams to control territories in a ‘king-of-the-hill’ style play. Another mode forces a single player to act as the leading officer in the team, where they must commit troops in different directions and win the map accordingly without being killed (sort of a VIP mission).
Graphically, this title is very nice. Maps have players diving and sliding into shallow waters, hiding in fiery plane wrecks and dusting up debris and dirt as they move around maps. Maps range from claustrophobic and tight shooting grounds to open and large territories where many players will find themselves getting lost and being wiped out by their opponents.
With a total of 62 weapons, 4 multiplayer modes and co-op play, GRAW 2 will keep any first person shooter fan happy. Realism and team play is also another important aspect of this game, as is all the Tom Clancy titles which we have become very familiar with as the years go by. Check it out when it comes out, but PC owners be warned of a possible hardware upgrade to content with the sexy eye candy prevalent in this title.
