FIFA Soccer 09

Soccer/Football video games have always been very popular over the years. In recent times, this particular genre has been dominated by two titles - Pro Evolution Soccer (Winning Eleven in Japan) and FIFA Soccer - each with their own set of hardcore fans who will vouch that one title is superior than the other.

It's a matter of preference, of course, with both games having their pros and cons, much like any other game on the market. Fans of FIFA Soccer will be delighted with the much-anticipated release of the game's latest version, FIFA Soccer 09, powered by the third generation of the EA SPORTS football engine.

The latest version of FIFA soccer is the most realistic and responsive yet with more than 250 core gameplay enhancements more controlled dribbling and ball control while turning inside defenders, improved first-time shooting mechanics and precision, better timed and more accurate passes etc.

The introduction of new player momentum physics measures the speed and weight of the player to determine a range of attributes such as the distance of a slide tackle, the power of a header, the severity of player collisions and the height of a player’s jump. This means that certain players will be stronger than others and more dominant in collisions, battles for control of the ball etc. thus taking realism to a new level.

Custom Team Tactics is a new gameplay feature for FIFA 09 and allows you to take the reigns of a team as first-team coach and be in charge of tactics, customising player positions and controlling support play etc. to exploit the opposition's weaknesses.

The career mode has been expanded to allow the creation of a professional player from scratch - developing his skills at a single outfield position with the ultimate goal of becoming a national legend.

FIFA 09 also features 15 new stadiums with added crowds, electric stadium atmospheres, and realistic commentary to make this version of the game arguably the best so far.

The game is available on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PC DVD, Playstation 2, Playstation Portable, Nintendo DS and Mobile and will be released on October 2, 2008. [fifa09.ea.com]
