Need 4 Speed ProStreet almost here!

September 10th 2007 11:41

Burnout ProStreet

Need for Speed ProStreet - the new and upcoming hit from EA Games is set for multi-console release on November 1st, 2007! Be aware though, a new group of developers have created this title in an excellent franchise and they have changed the rules a little when it comes to gameplay.

EA Black Box will allow players to race in 4 different racing styles including drift, grip, drag and speed challenge. Moreover, the 'story-line-open-world' environment which we found common in the last few NFS titles has not been followed in this title - with more emphasis on driving which is an excellent aim in my point of view since I think the last few titles have become quite boring.

Another theme of the game which will capture a large gaming audience is the 'import-tuner' theme of cars. This includes the typical Nissan Skylines to Mazda RX7's - far away from the classic NFS Ferraris and Lamborghinis! Modifications and realistic car damager are also another main aspect of this title which will really show off the graphical power of the new-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360.

I can't wait to grab this title and better yet - play it online! (Let’s just hope there is slips events )

IEAA strikes at Piracy

September 5th 2007 03:17

People who play pirated games, please put your hands up. No? Then I'll just assume the smiles mean otherwise. Piracy is a common problem in the videogame industry like pirated DVD's are for the movies, and Australia's videogames “watchdog” the Interactive Entertainment Association (IEAA), is sick of it

Hungary gamers at game 1

This summer, Sydney and Melbourne gamers will be treated to an Australian 'E3' event (so to say), called Game1 Expo. This event was such a hit last year, that this year the Autosalon will be held in compliment to Game1. Yep, those modified cars and hot babes will also be on show next to the new games that will head our shores this summer and into the future.

The last post I made discussed the Wii and its ability to run DVDs using a boot disk once the console was modified. Of course, chipping a Wii is quite cheap and allows gamers to play 'burnt' or 'back-up' games. Hackers can't really be stopped from finding exploits in coding and hardware allowing gamers to play games without paying for them. Now looking at the effects of game prices and release titles has made me come to weird conclusion...

GTA 4 delayed till next year

August 5th 2007 08:03

This year game developers are pounding out massive releases, but one which has been highly anticipated for some time now - Grand Theft Auto 4 - will be delayed till next year. Take-Two interactive confirmed this with a planned release date of this big title to be at least February next year. Reason being? - supposedly development teams are having difficulty with certain aspects of the game and are trying to release copies of the title on the PS3 and Xbox 360 at the same time. The problem however is the highly different developing platforms of the 2 consoles which cause caused this problem.

The gaming industry is BOOMING this year! The Wii bringing out the inner geek from every kid and senior gamer, hardcore gamers resting comfortably on their couches playing on Xbox Live, and the rich gamers with their shiny George Foreman.. ahem… PS3’s. It’s great to be a gamer!

This is something you don’t see every day; two game developers at log-heads over licensing issues. This is quite serious and is the type of gaming news stepping out of the ‘standard soft news’ with something ‘hard’ like reports found in the news section of newspapers.
