Midnight Club: Los Angeles
August 12th 2008 05:56
Midnight Club: Los Angeles is the fifth and latest installment in the Midnight Club series of racing games. Available on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, the Midnight Club franchise continually raises the bar for racing games with each release - its popular street racing format sets the standard for credibly integrating street racing culture with an intense racing experience.
Consistently the most innovative, highest-rated street racing franchise, Midnight Club set the standard of what an open-world racing game can be. Midnight Club: Los Angeles features one of the most highly detailed renderings of the City of Angels ever. Previous installments of Midnight Club have featured several cities within a game; this time, the size of the Los Angeles map is big enough to replace them all.
See what it's like to cruise the Sunset Strip in style, driving some of the hottest vehicles in the world right now with a list that includes the Audi R8, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Dodge Challenger Concept DUB Edition, Corvette Z06, Ford GT and Saleen S302 Extreme - all with various customisable options for better aesthetics, performance etc.. More vehicles will be revealed in the lead up to the launch of the title.
The gameplay revolves around the city of Los Angeles - Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills, Downtown LA and more - where players are allowed to roam freely. New for Midnight Club: Los Angeles is the new dynamic weather system which boasts day-to-night cycle and weather effects i.e. making the vehicle more prone to aqua-planing in heavy rain etc. Rockstar Games' RAGE system has been used in the game to fluctuate traffic levels throughout the day i.e. typical heavy traffic in the morning and afternoon, and little to no traffic at night although this does not follow a set pattern.
Midnight Club: Los Angeles will be available in Australia on October 10th, 2008 with an rrp of $109.95. [rockstargames.com]
