Mario Strikers Wi-Fi on the Wii

Nintendo keeps pumping out those good titles for the Wii, and even though they seem to be sequels to Gamecube originals, they still look damn good. One such game is Mario Strikers which is back this time around for the Wii and will utilize wireless gameplay very well.
Mario Strikers is a soccer game which pits all your favorite Nintendo characters (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Diddy Kong…to name a few) on interactive fields which are affected by weather such as lightning and look quite colourful and inviting (as most Mario titles are). So the two big items worth mentioning for this title is the wireless control structure used in the gameplay and also the Wi-Fi gameplay which really pushes the Wii forward in a positive direction.
Wireless play is included in this title with players across the world joining a game very easily and quickly with the ability to hold special number codes. These codes will allow players to be placed on the same teams when they play a new match against a random group of people. Gameplay is also entertaining with players using the cool Wii controls to swing and hit the ball across the field and hopefully into the goal. Players will also be able to play goalkeeper and attempt to save shots by swinging the controller in the appropriate direction to create a save.
One drawback to this game however is the lack of communication vocally or text based that can be done in this game between strangers. This is Nintendo’s effort to create a safe and friendly online environment for children and families without the need of abuse from other players. Otherwise, this title feels like a re-release of the Gamecube version but with a few extra features. It is out in Europe from May 25 but July 30 in the US only on the Wii.
