Manhunt 2 unbanned

Manhunt 2 - the extremely violent game placing gamers in the body of a mass serial killer has 'un-banned' after being modified and re-submitted for classification. Yep, Rockstar promised to do all it could to have it released and now it looks certain!

This has angered a US senator (yet again looking for publicity) whose year 2005 legislation banned violent videogames. California State Senator Leland Yee was up in arms demanding that the ESRB (who classify games) outline the changes made to the game which allowed it to receive a Mature rating. ESRB has refused stating that this information is confidential and that the game meets the requirements by classifiers to be released.
Manhunt 2 stab in the dark

How interesting! Dim down the blood, remove some weapons and we have a legal game for release! lol This just goes to show that violence in games will always be released on the market and it sells. If anything, all this commotion about Manhunt 2 being banned and un-banned will boost sales for Rockstar and become a slap in the face to the Senator who is solely against entertainment of this type.

Gamers on the other hand rejoice (the Mature ones that is ).

man, that's pretty random... so, the blood is a little dimmer, and that makes it acceptable?

"The current law is based on the principle that every adult is considered capable of deciding for himself which games he wants to play, unless it contains illegal material,"

That’s from the Justice Minister in Holland in which the game is sold uncut.

If only the world could follow the same.

All in all the adults are finally given the choice to play the game or not. Meanwhile, parents will need to keep their eyes peeled for their kids.

The actual changes made to the game to warrant a mature rating has not been released due to the confidentiality rules by the ESRB...i am just assuming diming the blood and voilence would achieve this !
