Looking for a mix of Counter-Strike and magic play in one game?

Microsoft Game Studios are putting together an interesting shooter title named Shadowrun which will focus heavily on teamwork and tactics when players battle online in teams of 4-6. Players familiar with Counter-Stike will feel at home with the style of play amplified in this title, with an additional aspect of magical powers which makes this game quite different to the usual first person shooter gamers are used to.
Set in a futuristic atmosphere (as most new games are these days), players can use magic to create ‘diversions’ for example, using smoke which creates a replica of themselves to lure emenies in order to ‘backstab’ them, and also teleporting abilities and being able to see through walls to see enemies. These are just a few of nifty magical tactics players can use when fighting in teams to win.
Playing in teams is very important as players who try to fight on their own can be taken out of play by teams and removed from the map. This will make it much harder for that player’s team to resurrect them, causing them to wait for the entire round to end before resurrection. Moreover, a ‘cowboy’ will be also selectable in which can roam the map by themselves and cause their own little mischief. Xbox360 owners will also have the ease of use of the headset which will help them organize their teamwork more efficiently.
This title is scheduled for release midway this year on the Xbox360, and also expect it land on Microsoft Vista sooner than later (PC).
