Legend of the Dragon…but no Bruce Lee?

This game is set to be released on the PSP, PS2 and Wii this month, and allows gamers to select one of 18 characters and battle it off in a variety of quests which involve fighting techniques and beating down enemies to a pulp. Looks interesting to some, but to me this game looks pretty boring and would only satify fans of the television show in which this game is based on. Fighting games have matured over the ages with the release of brilliant titles such as Namco’s Tekken 5 and even Sega’s latest fighter Virtua Fighter 5 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. But this game looks like a step back, with repetitive gameplay and poor graphics (and it is being released on the Wii – short to say the Wii has poor graphics anyways…)
The one thrill of the game (so-to-say) could be the morphing abilities that the characters have which give them the ability to launch a series of special moves against enemies. Been there and done that, this isn’t so new to many gamers who will be left shrugging their shoulders and just repeating the morph when necessary. As players progress in the game, they move from checkpoint to checkpoint versing enemies one on one and unlocking new characters for their disposal.
So what about online play? None. Multiplayer (or lack their of!). What about Bruce Lee? Quite comical in my retrospect that a game named Legend of the Dragon is named so closely to Enter the Dragon – the film which started the Legendary fighter Bruce Lee. I am sure many people will be fooled into thinking this kung-fu game contains a playable Bruce Lee, but this title only follows the tv show which is named Legend of the Dragon.
I would avoid this title and choose a better fighter like Tekken or better yet save your pennies for VF 5 (or even Tekken 6 when it is eventually released!).
