Left 4 Dead gamplay videos are terrifying

Ugh. Rock, Paper, Shotgun has a selection of gameplay videos from the highly anticipated Valve game, Left 4 Dead, which is a 4-person coop shooter, pitting you and your mates against hordes of zombies.

Zombies, in dark places. Fast zombies, too, unfortunately, which shows how the gaming industry is matching steps with the Hollywood machine. Instead of Romero-zombies, we've got to deal with angry Dawn-of-the-Dead-remake zombies. What the hell?

RPS says:

"I’ve played it, it’s entirely awesome, and it’s scheduled for release on November 4th."

I'm sure it is awesome, but this video left me feeling weak-kneed and trembly. You want me to go into a zombie infested building, with no lights on? Are you kidding me?

I'm a notorious video game coward... my lowest moment was freaking out when the pseudo-zombies from the first Thief came ambling over to me. The undead? No way, man. I'll just sneak the hell outta here.
