Imagine 200 players on one map FPS style – Huxley!

I have seen massive battles played online in first person shooters, but 200 players fighting stimulatingly is a new feature for my eyes. Webzen is creating a FPS that focuses highly on multiplayer gaming where players can play in teams to take down massive bosses (quest like) or join opposing teams in large scale warfare!
The game is set in a futuristic environment (as we tend to find with most new games), with players being able to choose from the human or hybrid side (the hybrid side of which is a mixture between alien and human). Each faction has their own unique weapons, with players being able to play 3 different roles on the map. This includes the heavy armored ‘enforcer’, medium armored ‘avenger’, or light but quick armored ‘phantom’ which is essentially the sniper class.
Maps are split into 2 cities, comprised of more smaller maps. One city for based on the human lands and the other on the hybrid. Players will be able to form squads (similar to that of Battlefield 2), and collect skill points which will help them upgrade their armor and weapons. Essentially, players will be able to drag and drop items onto their character in an RPG-type feel when acquiring and attaching armor and weapons.
Interestingly enough, this game is based on the Unreal 3 engine which makes it look quite impressive indeed. The playing style however will not be similar to Counter-Strike or Battlefield 2, but more like the Quake multiplayer titles with quick action and brute violence. Finally we can play a fast paced online FPS without tip toeing around the map (well I hope so!).
Due out by the end of the year. Keep your eyes peeled for this one.
