Half Life 2 saga to continue on new-gen consoles

With HL:2 Episode 2 drawing nearer, Valve the developer of the Half Life series is looking to expand their award winning title onto new consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PS3 and eventually bring Half Life 3 into the light as well! Half Life 2: Episode 2 looks to follow the storyline after Episode 1 which is available now as an add-on for the PC version of the game and will be released by this year’s end.
Episode 1 has followed through as a successful add-on to the storyline and hence its addition to the new packages of Half Life 2 onto the new-gen consoles. The re-releases of Half Life 2 on these consoles will also feature Episode 1 and 2 including the original Half Life 2! Users who have missed out on the original HL2 or just wish to experience the whole saga will be able to do so with glorious graphical performance on their new consoles.
I like the idea of re-releasing the HL2 series but I keep asking myself, is it really worth playing an FPS of that calibre on a console with a joystick? It is always executed more efficiently on the PC with the use of a keyboard and mouse. What frustrates me even more is how much HL2 sells on Xbox at the moment. The last time I saw it was at AU$105 at EB games. Imagine how much it will cost when it is released on the Xbox 360 or PS3…
Well I am still happy to play HL2, and CS Source on my PC for a cheaper price with my trusty keyboard and mouse (and immediate connection to the internet at no extra cost ..*cough *cough* Xbox Live). I would only recommend the re-release of HL2 to gamers who cannot actually play HL2 on their PC due to hardware requirements, otherwise just grab HL2 and the Episodes on the PC.
