Half Life 2: Episode One now available!

For gamers who absolutely loved Half Life 2 or just enjoy first person shooting games at the highest quality, Valve Software has released the first of the three scheduled episodes that link directly to its blockbuster game Half Life:2. This title named Episode One can be purchased as a stand alone product, and at a cheaper price comparatively to full priced games. Reason being – the game is itself an ‘episode’ and will finish within hours of addictive playing.
Episode One is set straight after the ending of Half Life 2 which is one big reason new gamers to the series should definitely try out Half Life 2 before playing this title to thoroughly enjoy the storyline. Players control Gordon Freeman once again, but this time are accompanied by Alyx Vance, who assists Gordon throughout the whole Episode during combat and explorations. This team play looks quite enjoyable and tactical as the player acquires a sense of teamwork and cooperation with Alyx in order to progress in the game.
Half Life 2’s source engine still remains strong graphically, with additional lighting effects adding greater impact to the eye candy present in Valve titles. Dialogues are also implemented very well, with character interaction and cut scenes executed brilliantly.
I particularly love Half Life and the continuance of the strong storyline is very pleasant. Tactics is another reason why I enjoy this title, as opposed to quick map running first person shooters which have little storyline, puzzles and the way to succeed is to shoot shoot and shoot more (I’m not saying Half Life doesn’t involve shooting but to an extent there are puzzles to change the flow of gameplay).
Half Life 2: Episode One is available now on the PC and I recommend that if you haven’t already played and completed Half Life 2, I suggest you do so before you try out this title!
