GTA Liberty stories worth it?

A while back, the PSP scored a GTA title of its own which followed a side story to the famous GTA 3 which was released on the PS2 back in 2001. This title was Liberty Stores, and it was quite amazing to see Rockstar Games re-create Liberty City for the PSP considering the PSP’s hardware limitations. Interestingly enough, this title has been ported back to the PS2.
The basic plot of this game (like most of the GTA titles) is to play the character of Tony Ciprani who works for the mafia. In order earn money and rise the ranks within the organisation, players must do missions over and over again which basically involve stealing a car, killing someone, grabbing an item and returning it to your boss. While all this is occurring, players must dodge police, purchase weapons and even be a taxi driver.
Controversy behind this title may still exist but none the less it still is a big money maker. Maybe this is a reason why it has been ported to the PS2. Perhaps fans of the series which to continue the Tony Ciprani plotline, or perhaps the budget price tag of the title will prove irresistible.
Anyways, the title does have its drawbacks on the PS2, namely the lifespan of the game and the graphics. Since the game was initially designed for the PSP, missions were quite simple and quickly completed. Players could finish the title within 10 hours or so which will prove disappointing for some gamers who want lengthy gameplay. Graphics are still scaled down as they were on the PSP, and this is noticeable on the aging PS2 with slowdown in graphics when there is a lot of action happening on screen.
This is still a good title for those who haven’t played the PSP version and are looking for a cheap, yet entertaining (and violent) title. For PSP owners though, give it a pass, since its almost identical to the original.
It is out now on the PS2.
