GTA IV for the PC has DRM that'll make you cry

Grand Theft Auto IV was a massively popular game when it came out for the Playstation and XBox platforms - PC gamers were left mumbling in spiteful tongues about Rockstar Games, claiming that they made the game what it was.
The fourth game detailed a fake New York City like you wouldn't believe, allowing the player to go on dates or play bowling. It sounds mundane, but to a gamer, sometimes there's nothing better than seeing the real world replicated so vividly in a game. It sounds ridiculous and, yes, there are definitely moments to be ridiculed about in that thought process, but there's something that inspires a bit of glee, to find a living, breathing world.
Mainly, that's because you can jack a taxi and go on a crime spree across Manhattan. You can't do that in real life.
Up till now, you couldn't do that in real life OR in the video game, if you were a PC owner.
Luckily, GTA IV has been released tor the PC, giving us PC gamers something to go "Me, too guys!, right?" about.
Unfortunately, Rockstar has decided that paying customers must be treated like thieves and have installed nasty DRM on the game, in addition to making the player jump through flaming hoops to play the game.
Detailed in this post on Random Ravings:
That's just three steps - there's 20 in total and the last one looks like this:
"Step 20: Game crashes to desktop."
Great! Remember - you paid $60 to experience this pain!

"Step 1: "Tut" loudly as you are forced to agree to be part of the Rockstar Social Club; a Gamespy type program that must be installed before you can install the game.
Step 2. Install the game. It comes on 2 DVDs, taking up 16GB's of space.
Step 3: Growl loudly when asked to make a Microsoft Live account. If you haven't done so, be prepared for an arduous task in itself. Begin to cry."
