God Hand…classic beat em up action

Capcom is at it again…with the creators of the Viewtiful Joe series putting together a button bashing but quirky fighting game. God Hand follows a mystical Japanese story line that places the gamer in the control of Gene who will be able to dish out a large variety of combos and power moves on all incoming enemies.
Sounds like another boring 3rd person adventure? Maybe on the outside…but Capcom never fails to deliver quality titles (well we always hope so!).This game includes some weird and comical plot lines which will add flavour the gameplay and keep players amused (possibly even give the impression of…what the?). After watching the official trailer for the game I was saying …what the? to myself….there were people dancing around the screen whislt some serious fighting was going on! Now that’s some weird gaming scenes!
Anyways I love Capcom titles, especially when they follow Japanese themes and plot lines. Gamers in Japan are always the hardest to please which really sets a high standards for games developers to follow…look at the Metal Gear Solid series by Konami or Final Fantasy series by Squaresoft (always quality groundbreaking titles!).
Graphically God Hand looks sweet, especially at this stage in the aging Playstation 2 graphic engine. Fighting scenes flow during crowded battles and the destruction of objects (when smashed on other enemies for example) let of some good debris.
This day and age, classic beat em ups like Double Dragon or Streets of Rage are quite rare and this game looks to bring back the fun. It should be on its way in October this year only for the PS2 and I reckon it will be worth checking out…how could you go wrong with Capcom?
