Get ready to Rock: Guitar Hero II on Xbox360
October 2nd 2006 07:56
Interesting and very popular, Guitar Hero will be landing on the Xbox360 some time early next year and will come with its own special controller for the Xbox360 to boot! This game was originally released exclusively to the Playstation 2 a while ago and Xbox360 owners will now be able to play Guitar Hero II, which is a straight port of the Playstation 2 version but with better graphics and additional tunes and features.
Of these features, online playability looks to be a selling factor for the Xbox360. RedOctane, the publisher of this title should take full use of Xbox Live’s online services with players possibly being able to challenge each other online and achieve ranks as well. This will surely add more involvement to the game with players anywhere in the world challenging each other. Downloadable music through Xbox Live is also another feature which will certainly expand the longevity of this title as players will be able to jam to new beats.
I have mentioned all these features but some gamers will be asking… “what is this game all about anyways?” Simply said, players will use a guitar shaped controller and interact with the buttons on the guitar according to what is displayed on screen. As players press button combos, music is created and essentially the player is part of the rock band and gathers points. Think of Dance Dance Revolution but guitar styles and without aching ankles.
This title looks interesting and if you already haven’t tried it out on the PS2, I suggest you give it a go when it lands on the Xbox360 next year. On the other hand, if rock music and jamming isn’t you’re forte, then don’t bother with this title.
