FlOw…a dazzling experience of graphics and control for the PS3
February 23rd 2007 09:28
Now this is surely an unusual yet captivating title which makes heavy use of the PS3 controller’s Sixaxis mechanism and shows the glorious graphics that can be produced on the powerhouse console produced by Sony.
FlOw puts the gamer in control of eel type creature that must grow and survive under the sea. As time progresses in the game, the eel will develop a variety of attacking techniques such as poison and even grow to become a dragon like animal with beautiful colours. Along this life cycle, the creature must avoid being killed and eaten by other fish and water creatures which pose a threat.
The selling point to this title, aside from the nice eye candy; is the use of the Sixaxis mechanism. Players will be able to tilt the controller on different angles and push buttons to stir and move the creature around the map and in races. This may take some time to get used to, but shouldn’t be that hard given the relative easiness of the game. Along with the survival and grow gameplay, up to 6 other creatures can be unlocked and feature their own attack and defense moves which should increase the lifespan of the game.
This title will be released by the end of March on Sony’s online network for US$7.99.
