Far Cry 2

The upcoming sequel to popular first-person shooter, Far Cry, is due for release in Australia on October 23, 2008. Available on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, Far Cry 2 boasts both visual and technological advancement over its predecessor, set against a backdrop of a fictional region of Africa that is beautiful yet extremely hostile.
in terms of gameplay, you are essentially a gun for hire in a war-torn African country, stricken with malaria and forced to make deals with corrupt warlords on both sides of the conflict in order to make this country your home.
As the main player character, you are charged with identifying and exploiting your enemies’ weaknesses by neutralising their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion and cunning and, of course, brute force where necessary.
With a gameplay area that is 50 km2 (without any loading required), Far Cry 2 offers close to 50 hours of playing time - enough to satisfy most gamers - with plenty of the aforementioned time spent tackling new mechanics, such as weapon jamming, vehicle damage, propagating fire, destructible environments, adaptive enemy artificial intelligence, and the environment - day and night cycles, dynamic weather etc.
The game is also available with multiplayer (class based: Commando, Guerrilla, Sharpshooter, Rebel, Gunner and Saboteur) and four modes including deathmatch, team deathmatch, "capture the diamond" and "uprising".
