Ever wanted to build and explore your own theme park?

Do you ever remember the last time you visited a theme park and get that butterfly feeling when you pass the entrance and see people screaming in roller coasters and rides that twist in the most stomach churning positions? Well LucasArts is bringing a game called Thrillville to the Xbox and PS2 which gives the gamer the opportunity to build and ride in the park.
Players initially choose a simple theme park and roam around in this park in a 3rd person perspective. Once the player has selected a ride, they are placed in the rider’s seat and experience the roller coaster as you would think in this type of game. However, rides in the theme park might not suit the overall visitors, and it is the player’s job to interact (in an RPG style manner) with other characters in the game and learn where to improve rides. From this, players can modify and build their own roller coasters to suit the needs of the park’s visitors.
This gameplay focus pushes the player into a managerial position as well as being a visitor to the park. As the player progresses, they are given more difficult theme parks with more problems and better rides to build (reminiscent of the old Theme Park game released by EA over 10 years ago!). Another interesting aspect to the game is the large range of mini-games which are found in the theme parks. Such mini-games include mini-gold, western shooters and even a trampoline. All these additions add to the longevity and overall fun to the game.
I am looking forward to this game as I really loved the Theme Park sim and other Rollercoaster tycoon games which place the gamer in the creator’s seat (don’t forget LucasArts is behind this title!). The title should be released by the end of the year so watch out for it soon!
