News Pick:
PS3 Price drop for Australians!
The PS3 price drop in Australia is set for July 12… TODAY!!! The boss of Sony Australia, Michael Ephraim, has stated in a Smarthouse article that the price drop will be announced today. However this means the price might only drop to $829.
Meanwhile, the article says there hasn’t been any news thus far for the extra 3 year warranty on Australian 360’s to take effect, unlike the United States.
Well the price drop is better than nothing, it's so tough being Australian gamers, a poor Australian gamer. I personally think the price is still too high. I would possible consider saving up if the price drops to around $600... Or is that asking a bit too much?
E3
Well events that happened at E3 so far: Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo unleash their goods at their respective press conferences!
I wish to some day head off to an E3 as one of the Chosen to go and create live coverage at the gaming grounds. Well thank you to so many gaming websites that have been deligently reporting on the events happening as we speak!

PS3- press conference highlights and news
From Killzone2.com
- The Killzone 2 trailer scene at E3 and hosted on psextreme.com looks mighty cool!
The scene starts off with five soldiers on a flying convoy as they are getting ready for battle, prepping their guns and talking about the cold conditions. As they started to talk to another group of soldiers on another ship, the group’s convoy was blown out of the air.
The five soldiers reach down to the ‘killzone’ and the view transfers to first person and the in-gameplay battle looks mighty atmospheric; fellow soldiers burning to the ground, guns blazing everywhere as rubble falls off a building’s pillars, mines exploding in people’s faces as lightning from the distance loudly thunders in the background. There was a hint of co-op gameplay suggested from the main character signaling to another soldier from 3rd person. Then we see a huge-ass soldier with a sort-of rail gun who like’s to get into the player’s face, showing a glimpse of horror thrown into the mix. Then the killing animations are shown as the standard soldier is shot to death, resulting in blood coming out of their newly formed holes in their body’s and we last see our character get his gun knocked from his hands and falls onto the ground, ending the trailer. *
If there is one title to look forward to on the PS3, this certainly is promising to be that title.

- Unreal Tournament 3 will first appear on the PS3, but it is uncertain if it will be ported over to other consoles, including the PC.
- Haze, a FPS set in the jungle wowing people with its life-like scenery (and not to be confused with Crysis), has been confirmed at the Sony Press Conference as a PS3 exclusive.
- "33% lighter and 19% slimmer" seems to be the words concerning the new PSP at the Sony Press Conference. The PSP won’t be called Lite as far as copyright is concerned, but it’s going in that direction. It is also announced that it will only cost US$169.
- Metal Gear Solid 4 might be scheduled for a March 2008 release, treat this as a rumour because you know how iffy release dates for games are. Also this title, announced at the Sony press conference, to be the last in the saga and ties up the story arc spanning the last three games.
Wii - press conference highlights and news
At the Wii Press conference, an interactive mat called the “Wii balance board” will be used to play the game “Wii Fit” to help encourage gamers to stand up and play games for their health, I imagine, like that game where you have to flip a spinner on a board and follow where to place your hands/legs on a mat to the corresponding colour.
*A snippet from the trailer at gamespot
