Cars hits our gaming shelves

For those who love computer animated children’s films, you would have heard of or seen the Pixar film Cars hit the cinemas recently. The film has all the classic features of blockbuster children’s film, including the gorgeous computer generated graphics and talking cars which don’t need a human driver to run!
Well Rainbow Studios, under publisher THQ have released their own Cars game to tie in with the film, and this time around the game looks very enjoyable (compared to most games that tie in with their film counterpart). Players will be able to take control of the main character Lightning McQueen in a number of missions which revolve around fun mini-games. Most mini games as you would expect, involve the player driving around collecting items, doing races and pulling off zany moves including driving backwards and hoping around in the car.
The game is focused on a children's audience, however adult gamers should also be able to pick up the game and have a race without feeling embarrassed (just expect the game to finish quickly). Players will also be able to play against each other in a multiplayer mode which will extend the play time of this game which is quite short.
I think this game will be quite a treat as it is not complicated and is fun to play. For other serious gamers who want more than 10 hours of gameplay or a proper racing game, stay clear of this title as it is quite a simple game.
The game is now available on all major consoles.
