Card fighting: SNK vs. Capcom!

SNK Playmore is bringing an interesting title to the Nintendo DS, titled SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters. This title is set to be released early next year and will host a wide range of characters from Capcom and SNK games in….card format! Don’t expect brutal one on one or group fighting, button mashing combos here but straight card slapping action!
Up to 200 characters from SNK and Capcom titles will pop up in the game with a variety of health points, special moves and tactics. Players will roll a dice at the start of a round (using the stylus) and take turns in flipping out cards which will oppose each other and form moves according to the character displayed. As the player wins rounds, more cards are won and the battle continues.
Expect to see characters from Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Metal Slug and even Devil May Cry, which will all please fans of the brands. Wi-fi multiplayer gaming will also be included in this title with players being able to challenge other players in card battles across on the online network. This will surely extend the life of the title and prove addictive as players win and lose cards to real players in online battles!
I would recommend this title but only if it is released at a budget price. Card games are best played in real life I think, but then again Capcom and SNK titles do have a nice range of characters which should prove entertaining. Perhaps we should wait and see how the online play turns out before making stern judgements on card games played in video game format…
