Capcom brings back the classics

September 12th 2006 15:48

I love when big gaming companies re-release classic titles which I used to play when I was a kid. Boy I miss those Mega Drive and Super Nintendo days. I bet a lot of older gamers out there feel the same way when they see that the simplistic and addictiveness of such old games cannot be beaten by the latest high tech games available these days. Capcom has realised this gaming market and are set to release Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded on the PSP which is comprised of a nice bundle of Capcom goodies for gamers to poke their gaming minds at.

Some titles that are included in this compilation includes the original Street Fighter II Championship and Hyper edition, Ghouls and Ghosts and a range of battle games which reminds me of the turn based worms games. Along the way, gamers will also be able to unlock extra Capcom classics which can be purchased by using coins that are won during the game. I find this to be a nice little inclusion which will keep players hooked on these mini games until they unlock all the classics.

Hmmm….so we see Capcom bring back their classics…but what about the other big shots in the gaming world. I would really love to see Sega bring back some titles such as Alex Kidd in Wonderland and Streets of Rage which were really great titles for their time. What about the awesome Double Dragon series! Anyways, I would recommend this title to those gamers who feel like a dose of nostalgia, but I would only get it for the classic SF games…Check it out this October

Yeah the Virtual console sounds lilke an interesting concept but from what I have read...game downloads will cost anything between US$3 and $20 (with N64 games at the higher prices!). I would rather see Nintendo release a compilation of these titles in one release...it would probably save many gamers a lot of money too!

I heard they were going to be at $5 USD... anyway OFFICIAL PRICES WILL BE REVEALED TOMORROW! (heres hoping).

You can always use emulators but thats slightly less than legal depending on where you live. IN Australia its more legal than in America though...
