Call of Duty 4 to take doomy vision of modern warfare
June 15th 2007 17:31
Call of Duty has been renowned for the brilliant World War 2 titles which placed players deep in first person in the war which changed our world. Activision has exhausted that theme and now Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will pit players in a modern environment which will cause controversy given the current problems facing our world. UK and US forces will team up against Middle Eastern and Russian forces in a expansive war for global dominance. The Middle Eastern and Russian forces have been dubbed the 'Four Horsemen'.
I begin to wonder how many hidden themes are found in this title and link to biblical verses or concepts. That is bound to be weird yet interesting. Putting the biblical theme aside, the graphics in COD 4 will undoubtably be the most realistic and jaw dropping to date. In light of Halo 3 which is the most awaited game of the year, Activision has surely put its foot down in the gaming arena with COD 4 as a new benchmark for graphical brilliance. Explosions, helicopters, machine guns, fire and soldiers running rapid are all part of the package.
Single and multiplayer modes are available with an interesting RPG theme running through the game. Players will be able to create their character's abilities which include stealth, kamikaze and rampage-like attributes which help players overcome enemies. One interesting feature that I read about is the ability for one player to read the enemies radio tranmissions!
Call of Duty 4 is stated for release by the end of this year and will surely be the big title that gamers must own!
