Bust balls with Conan the Barbarian!

March 6th 2007 09:30

THQ is bringing back the classic animal, full of muscle and brawn (and little brain); in a smash-em up title for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Players who love roaming around maps and destroying literally anything that comes in their path will surly be overjoyed when this title hits consoles this year (or perhaps delayed till next :/).

Players who are familiar with titles such as Ninja Gaiden and even Double Dragon will feel at home when they get their hands on this title. Although it is still in development stages, Conan is looking quite impressive as he adventures around jungles, woodlands and desert-like environments beating up and destroying enemies and bosses. Conan will essentially be able to pick up weapons displayed around the map and even rip them off enemies and use them to maim and kill off monsters including animals and zombies.

Graphically, Conan looks impressive as you would expect on a new-gen console, with glorious environments and fast paced visual action with multiple enemies filling the screen with no drop in frame rate. The game is still in its early stages of development, but does look quite action orientated with players needing a bit more than button bashing to get through levels though. AI of enemy’s characters has been said to adapt to the player’s fighting styles, forcing gamers to use a different fighting combination, which can reach up to 100 different moves.

Overall this game does look promising, but is still in the works. I just hope THQ includes some sort of multiplayer mode which wills surly make this title worthwhile in an online beat-em up environment.
