Bomberman Land Touch! on the DS rocks!

Bomberman fans rejoice… the great action puzzler returns on the Nintendo DS and this time supported with multiplayer functionality. For those who are not familiar with the series, Hudson released this nifty battle title on the Playstation in the 90s and continued with a variety of titles on handhelds and the recent consoles. Players have control of a Bomberman (so to say) who is set on a map filled with bricks and obstacles. Scattered around the map are opponents who must use weapons (including bombs) and power-ups to destroy their enemies. Simply said…but addictive and fun!
I remember playing this on the Playstation many years ago and it was very fun with a multi-tap. Similarly, the DS version can allow up to 8 people to play offline (with one cartridge) and 4 people online. The online mode is new to this game for the DS which really shows how developed the Nintendo wireless gameplay has become for the DS over time.
In addition to battles, players will be able to play a series of mini-games which are included in this title. Unfortunately, the games cannot be played online, but can be offline. What makes this title even more enjoyable is the use of the stylus…which links to the name- Touch! This surly makes the game more interactive and enjoyable which is a selling point I would think!
If you want multiplayer mayhem, or just plain quick, puzzle survival fun – then this is the game for you. I would like to say the same about Bomberman Act Zero on the Xbox 360, but that game is a really big stinker. Bad reviews all round for that game, and a real damage to the Bomberman franchise and to fans alike (fans will certainly cry). But that’s another title…this one is good so go get it!
