Another Fast and Furious ‘like’ game…

Here we go again, another street sim racer is set to be released by the end of this month and will be published by Ubisoft for the Xbox 360. Import Tuner Challenge is the title and looks like a remake of Need for Speed Underground, Juiced, and the Fast and The Furious mixed together. Needless to say, games of this genre are selling quite well and since the demand is high, games like this will continue to be released. The only question is whether they will be more innovative over time.
So what does this game offer? Players will start off with credit points which are used like currency to modify their car (which is pretty stock standard to start off with as you would expect). A large selection of vehicle mods will be available for players to mingle with, alongside the 18 licensed cars from Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota. I like the concept that you can modify almost everything in the car…including the horn which can be used to ‘harass’ other drivers off the road whilst you try to overtake them!
Ok…so been there done that? Yeah most fans of illegal car racing games (and I don’t mean the game itself is illegal!) would have done this all before, but hopefully the multiplayer mode in this game will prove different. Players of course will be able to use their personalised cars on the streets of downtown Tokyo, with all races performed in the night time or at sun break. Hopefully, players will be able to gain some sort of ‘face’ or ranking system for defeating other online players…or possibly even slips! Now that would be cool.
Other than that, this title doesn’t really burst my bubble so to say. Lets just wait and see what happens when Import Tuner Challenge is released…maybe it will have a sweet soundtrack too?
