Too Human Xbox 360

Exclusive to the Xbox 360, Too Human is a next-generation third-person epic action game from Canadian developer Silicon Knights.

In the first of a planned three part trilogy, gamers assume the role of cybernetic god Baldur, a warrior charged with defending humanity in an ongoing battle with monstrous war machines hell-bent on the eradication of human life.

In terms of gameplay, Too Human features twitch gameplay in the form of fast-paced melee and ranged combat through a third-person view. The game also features heavy RPG elements including different selectable classes, customisable weapons - two-handed swords, hammers, polearms, pistols, rifles, lasers, etc. - armor and cybernetics, skill tree progression, dungeon crawling and item hunting.

Driven by the power of Unreal Engine 3 and the Xbox 360, Silicon Knights has created some breathtaking visuals such as detailed characters and environments, unparalleled visual fidelity including battles unfolding in an awesome scale as players engage with vast numbers of enemies. As a new generation game, gamers can test their skill online via the multiplayer co-op mode on Xbox Live.

Too Human is out in Australia on August 28th, 2008 priced at RRP $99.95.

Finally, after months of waiting, the newest release of Dwarf Fortress is out!

Dwarf Fortress has been mentioned here before, but I'll launch into the description yet again: it's a free game that lets you generate a realistic world, filled with monsters and elves, allowing you to command a group of dwarves, etching out a fortress in the wilderness

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood

Call me old-school, but I still find it strange when I see Sonic the Hedgehog pop up on Nintendo consoles for the simple reason that Sonic has been such an iconic Sega character since the Mega-Drive days that whenever I think of Sega, the lovable hedgehog is the one and only character that pops up in my head

Man, I love those games. Would I pay $5.99 to download them and play them all over again

The Force Unleashed strangling an Imperial soldier in the Tie fighter bay
We've talked about The Force Unleashed before... it's the latest game from LucasArts, George Lucas' game studio, a Star Wars-themed game that allows you to step into the shoes of a Sith apprentice and wreak Force havoc on the universe.

Much talk has been made of the game, as LucasArts has developed an incredible physics engine to allow the player to interact with the environment. Check out this trailer

Nethack vs. Angband switch

Angband screen adventurer
Back before console games, before King Quest or Maniac Mansion , we still had games. They were text based, and not very complicated, but they were part of a generation.

In 1980, Rogue came out on Unix machines... it allowed the player to explore a dungeon and kill various baddies, using weapons and magic. Really, really simple, and not very inspiring
