Crysis reviewed in pictures
December 30th 2007 08:57
One of the most anticipated games of 2007 was Crysis, a sci-fi shooter that is meant to be as immersive as the original Half-Life, but with real pretty graphics.
Open-ended, superhuman abilities, sneaky AI. People have been waiting a long time for this one.
This review of Crysis is just 15 comic frames long, using screenshots to give you the real deal.
It's an effective review... Check the one of the opening shots:
If there's one thing that pisses me off... it's when games load the little animated logos for all the studios, production companies and all the other fingers involved. If that's not bad enough, some companies don't let you skip the movie with a keypress. I would normally do the whole '*cough* EA *cough*' thing, but so many game writers are doing it - that it almost sounds like a terminal illness whenever there's a bunch of reviews being read.
The review says some pretty harsh things about the game, insulting the AI, for example. Where the game developers claim that their enemy bots are 'smarter' than other games, the reviewer suggests that they've just been given a god-like ability of supersight. That's cheating, you naughty boy.
