keyboard and mouse on xbox360

Have you ever been annoyed by the fact that playing a first person shooter title on a console can become quite tedious when using a controller. Moreover, many people say to stay clear from all FPS shooters unless they are on the PC (due to the keyboard and mouse combination). Well, when it comes to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 – hackers and ‘innovators’ seem to think of anything to make their gaming lives easier and this is where the XFPS 360 comes into play!

The XFPS 360 essentially allows gamers to use their keyboard and mouse (and also Playstation 2 dual shock controller!) to play games through the Xbox 360!. This device essentially plugs into the controller port of the Xbox 360 and has a variety of input ports and USB ports. Now gamers can simply buy an Xbox 360, this device and play games such as FEAR, Quake 4 and the upcoming Halo 3 with ease using their own keyboard and mouse.

When you look at the financial aspect of this decvice it is priciy (at approx. $100 AUD). But looking at it through the prime use of a PC to play games, this package incudling the Xbox 360, and XFPS 360 is cheaper for gamers instead of running out and buying a top of the line graphics card for their PC which they must continue upgrading. Furthermore, Xbox 360 Live is fully operational and many gamers can find themselves playing online with this new keyboard and mouse combination (or even play Street Fighter 2 Hyper online using a PS2 Controller!!!).

Highly recommended accessory (which is unofficial), and on my wish list when I buy my Xbox 360 very very soon!

EA Games is at it again with yet another Sims title and this time it’s on the Wii. Funny thing though, the creators of this title simply named MySims, have opted for a cute ‘lego’ type graphic layout which will appeal to a larger range of gamers (if the Sims hasn’t already!).

Well the PS3 was released today in Australia and the news is out…it is a very poor result for Sony and for the gaming market in general (so to say…). There were roughly 20,000 PS3s ordered into Australia, and from reading news articles throughout the day, under 1000 were sold on launch. This is a dismal result surely for Sony, but at the price tag of $1000 (yes I will add that little dollar in traveling and waiting fees for the customer cause the figure is tremendously large for a gaming console), the income from the console is at 1 million dollars (just estimating nothing accurate here).

Huxley Human

I have seen massive battles played online in first person shooters, but 200 players fighting stimulatingly is a new feature for my eyes. Webzen is creating a FPS that focuses highly on multiplayer gaming where players can play in teams to take down massive bosses (quest like) or join opposing teams in large scale warfare!

Marc Saltzman of the Associated Press seems more than impressed with Ratchet on the PSP. He believes it really acts as a shining beacon of what the PSP can offer and proof it can deliver a 'console like experience' while on the go. But Mr Saltzman, isn't part of the problem with the PSP is that it is not delivering a NEW experience like the DS?

Call of duty not on par

March 19th 2007 10:42
IGN has scored Call of Duty for the PSP a poor 66/100, citing the controls and gameplay just plain sucked. The controls are reportedly bearable, but the gameplay does nothing to make up for it, so therefore it really doesn't play well overall at all.

Whenever someone mentions Squaresoft’s Final Fantasy, they think of epic role playing games in mystical worlds that span over 40 hours of gameplay. There is also another class of FF games which have sprung up over the years, and it revolves in mini-games such as tactics, and now Chocobo Tales which brings a FF card game onto the Nintendo DS. This game however does not follow those features I mentioned above, but is of a simpler, ‘fun nature which is aimed at the younger gaming audience who will find this game quite entertaining.

Second-Life was a game which made a lot of money for many people (buying and selling property), and created a wave of addicts in an environment which has already been classified as anti-social (that is online gaming), is now being ‘cloned’ by Sony for the PS3. This title called Home, will be released by Sony for PS3 users on its online network for free use and is bound to be a success given the love of online gaming by this generation of gamers.

Many many years ago I played the great game Diablo, created by the giant profit making machine Blizzard. This point and click RPG was addictive, fast paced and became a classic title that most RPG gamers are fond of. Players would be able to loot bodies, collect items such as gold and weapons and fight hordes of creatures from hell until they reach the final epic boss. What made Diablo even more memorable was the multiplayer action which was severely destroyed by hackers (or more exactly – cheaters) who had immense and unstoppable power and looted all weapons that players worked hard for.

THQ is bringing back the classic animal, full of muscle and brawn (and little brain); in a smash-em up title for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Players who love roaming around maps and destroying literally anything that comes in their path will surly be overjoyed when this title hits consoles this year (or perhaps delayed till next :/).
